For instance, some people of color will want to avoid phototherapy because it causes temporary skin tanning. Black women with scalp psoriasis may have unique concerns about hair texture, how often they wash their hair, and hair styling. 

When both people of color and their doctors are aware of how psoriasis affects this group, they can better work together to find the best treatment.
